"For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great compassion I will gather you" (Is 54:7).
In the dark and difficult times of the present pandemic, today we dare to celebrate the feast of resurrection (obviously following all the rules of social distancing). Easter Liturgy is the summit of all the liturgies. No liturgical celebration is as rich and meaningful as the solemn liturgical celebration of this most important feast of Christianity.
On normal Sundays and other solemn feast days (including Christmas) we have altogether three readings (including the Gospel). However, on Easter we have nine readings. However, in many Churches only five of them are read.
The above quoted words from the Prophet Isaiah (taken from one of today's nine readings) offer today's suffering world the message of joy, hope and comfort. Yes, the Lord seems to have abandoned us for a brief moment, but he will soon have great compassion on us. That is the message of Easter Hope!
Wishing you and your near and dear ones a blessed Easter! ππΌππ₯π₯³
