Spiritual Spark π₯
"When Jesus was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight" (Lk 24:30-31).
The disciples on the way to Emmaus recognised Jesus in the breaking of bread. Bread stays in the central place. The Risen Lord reveals himself in and through the breaking of bread.
Many of us know the famous quotation of Mahatma Gandhi: "There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread." These words are particularly relevant for these days, when millions of labourers are jobless and hungry.
In sharing our bread with these brothers and sisters of ours, we will be able to encounter the Risen Lord. Let us make God present to them and to us through the noble work of feeding the hungry!
Good day and God bless us all! ππΌπ
