S...I...L...E...N...C...E..............
Holy Saturday can be characterised by one simple word and that is "silence". The silence is almost deafening and frightening. It is the silence of the grave. The Lord is dead; he is put in the grave; a big stone is rolled on the grave, and the grave is sealed.
That is what we experience on Holy Saturday every year. On Holy Saturday, no masses are held; no bells are ringing; no candles burning; no flowers, no decorations. The churches are bare, empty and silent.
This year the Holy Saturday seems to be extended. Easter is not in sight. (In fact Vatican was considering postponing the Easter.)
However God is active even on Holy Saturday. In fact he works even harder. Our Catholic belief tells us: On holy Saturday Jesus went down to the dead, to the hell, to free the faithful souls trapped there. Let us believe that the Lord fights for us even harder when he seems to be silent!
Good day and God bless us all! ππΌ⚔️
