Spiritual Spark πŸ”₯
"Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you" (Mt 7:7).
The above bible verse is one of the most popular verses in the Bible. The first reading from the book of Esther recounts the fervent prayer of Queen Esther for God's help against the evil plans of Haman. Thus the connection of the gospel with prayer becomes quite clear.
In the above verse three gradually active words are used: ask (with mouth), search (with eyes and feet), knock (with hands). The intensity and urgency in the last verb "knock" is expressed by the popular phrase: "knocking at the gates of heaven".
The explanation given in the following verses of the Gospel doesn't focus on the persistent activity of asking, seeking and knocking, but on the gentle confidence and childlike trust in God. We are made aware that we are not banging our heads on the hard wall; we are not asking for favour from a tyrant. Rather we are dealing with a loving and very generous Father, more than willing to fulfill the needs of his children.
Good day and God bless us all! πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒΌ
