Spiritual Spark π₯
The Samaritan woman said to Jesus, "How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?" (For Jews do not share things in common with Samaritans) (Jn 4:9).
Today's gospel recounts a long and interesting story of the encounter of Jesus with a Samaritan woman. This story teaches us an effective lesson in dialogue. In today's world, although we are connected by internet web, we are also deeply divided to the extent that dialogue is almost becoming impossible.
The polarisation is almost complete when one always and almost exclusively interacts with the people having similar ideas and opinions and shuts out people with differing viewpoints. We are increasingly imprisoning ourselves in our own little ideological worlds and pass judgements on others without interacting with them or listening to them.
The dialogue between Jesus and Samaritan woman encourages us to move out of our comfort zones and open ourselves to interact and dialogue with "the others", whom we consider our enemies!
Good day and God bless us all! ππΌπ€πΌ
