Spiritual Spark πŸ”₯
"They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on the shoulders of others; but they themselves are unwilling to lift a finger to move them" (Mt 23:4).
In today's gospel Jesus warns his disciples to avoid the actions and behaviours of Pharisees, who considered themselves superior and wanted people to treat them with respect and honour.
In India I have observed that those in authority avoid doing manual work. They literally lay burden on the shoulders of those under them and do not wish to bear any burden. Not doing manual work is seen as a status symbol.
In the last two-three years of my stay in Germany I have learnt about the dignity of labour. Every work is dignified and every person deserves our respect. I am greatly edified by the actions of great men doing humble works themselves instead of expecting juniors or those under them to do them.
Good day and God bless us all! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ‘¨‍πŸ”§
